Garreth A. DeVoe joined the firm after earning his J.D. and M.B.A. from Tulane University. His primary practice is in energy, maritime, and insurance defense litigation. Garreth provides highly effective legal representation through an aggressive and analytical approach to litigation, application of legal acumen, and timely client communication.

Having consulted or worked for business clients in a mix of industries on four continents through business school projects, Garreth brings global and practical experience and insight to his practice. Specifically, he understands that corporate agreements do not always work as intended in a complex global market, and that effective legal representation goes beyond merely winning at trial. It also requires knowing when to counsel for a resolution that minimizes the financial, investor perception, and public relations risks inherent in litigation and that preserves clients’ national and international business-to-business relationships.

Outside of the courtroom, Garreth enjoys playing tennis and running in Buffalo Bayou Park. He is also dedicated to the support of the arts in Houston, and is an active member of the Houston Symphony Young Associates Council and Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Having studied music at the university level and performed as a solo pianist, Garreth is also an avid attendee of Steinway & Sons’ local studio concerts.
